Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Plan B is an
emergency contraceptive pill. It needs to be taken within 72 hours of having
unprotected intercourse. Earlier it is taken, the protection seems to be better.
It would protect from
pregnancy by causing withdrawal bleeding just like periods within 3 weeks from the day of intake of pills. In case you do not get periods within 3 weeks, you need to seek medical attention immediately.
The symptoms what you are having could be due to side effects caused due to intake of the drug, since such drugs are
hormonal preparations.
These symptoms subside gradually once the bleeding occurs. Until then you can take symptomatic treatment to get the relief. Drink good quantities of fluids and keep yourself well hydrated.
If pregnancy test in urine is showing blur lines and not conclusive, you need to test beta-hCG levels in blood and undergo trans-
vaginal ultrasound scan (TVS) to know the status.
Kindly consult Gynecologist with the report for proper evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
